Hi, We had a multi fuel burning stove installed, which we’ve had set back into our chimney. The lads built us a new fireplace surround (professionally done) using plasterboard for the sides. There is not much of a gap either side of the stove and they recommend we paint it with heat resistant paint if we could get it or waterproof paint as second option. We’d like to keep it white. Can you recommend anything like a fireplace/hearth paint, as I only seem to be able to find paints which are intended for metal, ie the stove itself, rather than plasterboard. Kindest Regards, Rachel
Assuming the areas of plaster to be painted are not exposed to temperatures over 300°C if painted white, or 180°C for tinted colour options, they are clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet we can recommend Tikkurila Muuri.
This is available in a range of colours in a matt finish.
