I have a Gazco gas fire inset into a “heat shield” which is a Promat Supalux calcium silicate fire board. The gas fire is not an open one, the flames are confined behind a glass front. The “heat shield” does not get hot, just warm to the touch as the heat rises. I have been told that the calcium silicate fire board is quite porous. Would your Muuri fire surround paint be fully suitable for painting my particular fire surround, from the description I have given you? With thanks, Rita
Assuming the mineral boarded area to be painted is not exposed to temperatures of over 180°C , they are bare, clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet Tikkurila Muuri could be used.
This can withstand 180°C in a tinted colour, or 300°C in white.
