I have an oak top on a bathroom counter top and i triedDanish oil on it. It has all but disappeared where it is regularly rubbed down with a damo cloth. I am thinking of sanding it all down and trying OSMO as a waterproof protection to the wood and trying to even the colour if possible. There are bits where there areintereting cracks and they have been filled in with wood filler which is clearly wrong. Is there a way to dig out some of it and fill with somethingwhich would look better? I'm wondering about something I once saw which looked as though it was a powder and used somehow to fill the spaces. It looked gold. Would it have been resin? Equally, would the waterproof oil be all that is needed to cover and protect the surface? I really would appreciate advice and guidance.
