I have two flat roofs. One is the normal grey mineral finish, about 10 years old. The other roof is silver possibly coated with something, it was like that when I purchased the property about 20 years ago. Neither of the roofs are leaking. The normal grey felt is good condition but was littered with moss, which I have removed. Obviously some still remains. The silver roof has bubbled but no signs of any leaks and no moss issue. 1) What moss, Algae killer can I use on a felt flat roof and can it be used on the silver roof as preventative measure? 2) I want to coat the surfaces with a waterproof member again as protective measure I do not have a repair issue? Please advise products that would work for both roofs on Moss/algae killing and coating to protect from UV light and provide protection against water ingress. Thank you in advance
Before any application the roof must be clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet a fungicidal wash such as Wethertex C10 Multi-Surface Fungicidal Wash should be used.
Assuming the previously applied coating is bitumen based, both roofs are clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet we can recommend Eagle DoubleCoat Pro-Reflect Liquid Waterproofing.
If the coating is unknown we would recommend testing for compatibility and adhesion prior to full application.
