We need to redo the blacking on our canal boat. When we bought the boat it had a 2-part epoxy paint so we would like to use the same. Can you let me know which paint / product would be best and if it would cure properly at the end of October? Would a hardener additive be needed? What is the coverage? Our boat is 60ft long and 10ft wide so I am trying to work out what quantity is required.
Assuming the previously painted areas, are clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet we can recommend Teamac High Performance Polyurethane Topcoat.
This is compatible with most 2 pack coatings, but we would recommend testing on a small area for compatibility and adhesion prior to full application.
This is sold in kit form including the hardener, the coverage rate per coat is 7.5 to 8.5m² per litre.
