Cromar PRO GRP Hardener is a general purpose MEKP and gives consistent room temperature curing of unsaturated polyester resins and gelcoat/topcoats. Part of the Cromar Pro GRP Roofing System.
A Methyl Ethyl Ketone peroxide in phlegmatizer for the curing of unsaturated polyester resins at ambient temperature in combination with colbalt accelerators.
A reliable product of remarkable purity, Cromar PRO GRP Hardener assures quality in almost every system. Suitable applications are hand lay-up, spray-up, RTM, continuous laminating, centrifugal casting, filament winding, polymer concrete and vacuum infusion.
Using a standard type of pre-accelerated Polylite Polyester resin 1-4% Cromar PRO GRP Hardener is normally added and for Cromar PRO GRP Gelcoat/Topcoat 1-4% (Subject to temperature).
What is PRO GRP?
GRP stands for Glass Reinforced Polyester and is also known as Glass-Fibre.
This system is cold applied on site, giving it a seamless and flexible weatherproof finish that resists water, heat and frost.
The resulting surface gives a strong architectural finish that looks very impressive. If maintained properly it will last as long as the building stands.
Cromar have developed this technology further to produce the perfect all weather protection for any flat roof. PRO GRP can be applied in small domestic situations right through to large industrial environments.
Benefits of a GRP System
- COLD APPLIED - no heat required
- EASY TO FORM - around complex situations
- VERY DURABLE - resists heavy foot traffic
- NON-SLIP WALKWAYS - can be incorporated
- CLASS LEADING ROOFING SOLUTION - that far exceeds traditional methods
- VIRTUALLY MAINTENANCE FREE - for very long periods of time
- IMPACT RESISTANT - due to its ultra hard finish
- FIRE RETARDANT
- HIGHLY ECONOMICAL SOLUTION

Coverage
The values above are recommended coverage rates for estimating purposes we would recommend coverage rates or 1.5kg/m2 for resin, and 0.5 kg/m2 for top coat.
Temperature / Catalyst Required
Note: These temperature breaks are approximate. Always test catalyst additions with your first mix and adjust up or down as required.
Summer / Winter
Cromar DO NOT recommend laminating in temperatures below 5℃ and above 35℃ ambient temperature, please consult our technical department on 0113 2455450 (option 2) or send a message to [email protected].
