Rust-Oleum Hard Hat Anti-Rust Primer - Corrosive Protection for Steel
An advanced solution designed to offer exceptional protection against rust and corrosion. Available in Grey for light coloured topcoats and Red Brown for dark coloured topcoats, this primer ensures a seamless finish and robust protection.
Applications
Suitable for use on new, bare, or slightly rusted steel surfaces. It is ideal for small areas or touch-up applications in light industrial settings, normal humidity, and interior environments. This primer penetrates deeply into the surface, preventing rust formation and ensuring long-lasting protection.
Fast-Drying Formula
Our primer is touch dry within 15 minutes and ready to handle after 30 minutes, making it incredibly efficient for quick projects. It can be recoated within 1 hour or after 48 hours, providing flexibility for your painting schedule.
Environmentally Safe
Containing rust-inhibitive pigments, the Hard Hat Anti-Rust Primer is both lead and chromate-free, reducing environmental impact and ensuring safer use. The product does not release toxic fumes during welding of treated surfaces, enhancing safety during application and maintenance.
Application Instructions
- Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dirt, grease, oil, and loose rust.
- Shake the aerosol can vigorously for at least one minute before use.
- Hold the can approximately 25 cm from the surface and apply in a back-and-forth motion.
- Apply several thin layers at a few minutes interval for optimal coverage.
- After use, turn the can upside down and press the spray button for 2-3 seconds to clean the valve.
Limitations
Do not use the Hard Hat Anti-Rust Primer on surfaces that are not steel or are heavily rusted without proper surface preparation. Avoid applying in high humidity or temperatures below 0°C. Ensure adequate ventilation during application.

The Hard Hat Anti-Rust Primer is classified as an extremely flammable aerosol and may cause skin and eye irritation. Always wear protective gloves and eye protection during use. Avoid breathing vapours or spray and ensure good ventilation. Do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50°C or spray on an open flame.
