Apply Magnet Paint to any internal surface to create a magnetic area that is ideal for offices, kitchens, workplaces and schools. Magnet Paint can be applied indoors on any surface such as walls, doors, kitchen cabinets, furniture, etc, (as long as there is a good pre-treatment of the substrate) to create convenient noticeboards, storage options, or playrooms for children.
Any type of magnet can be used on Magnet Paint, from fridge magnets, foil magnets and magnet tape to hold project notes and task sheets, important reminders and photos in home and work office spaces, staff rooms, kitchens, etc. Schools and nurseries can also use MagPaint’s Kids Magnet Sets for creative play with letters, numbers, vehicles, smileys and animals.
A dark grey water-based wall paint for indoor use, Magnet Paint is based on an acrylate binder with fillers, (ferromagnetic) pigments and additives. A wall that has been treated with a few layers of Magnet Paint attracts (neodymium) magnets. After applying a minimum of three layers, the Magnet Paint can be overcoated with any conventional type of water-based wall paint, such as emulsion, blackboard and whiteboard paints, or thin wallpaper.
The theoretical pulling force of a Ø29 mm Neodymium magnet on a fully applied system according to consumption is approx. 2400 N/m².

Coverage
2m² per litre or half a litre per square metre, depending on many factors such as porosity and roughness of the substrate and material loss during application.
Use 1 litre of MagnetPaint for no more than 2m².
A thinner layer produces less magnetic force. For a stronger magnetic force, apply an additional layer.
Tin Size | Approx. Coverage |
---|---|
0.5 litre | Covers approximately 1m² with two to three coats - ideal for school, home and office use, or anywhere you need a small magnetic work or play area. |
1 litre | Covers approximately 2m² with two to three coats - ideal for school, home and office use, or anywhere you need a reasonable sized magnetic work or play area. |

Questions
Question about the product
karin Taylor on 2024-01-09 20:05:32 | Question:
Hi, Can I cover your magnet paint with another colour of emulsion on top to create an invisible magnetised wall? Thanks Karin |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Assuming the product has been applied as detailed in the techncial datasheet, after applying a minimum of 3 layers, this can be overcoated with any conventional type of water-based wall paint such as emulsion, blackboard/whiteboard paints, or with a thin wallpaper for a more decorative finish if required. | |
