Surface Preparation
New Concrete Floors: New concrete must be clean, sound, dry, fully cured and surface laitance removed by vacuum enclosed shot blasting or mechanical grinding, a minimum strength of 25N/mm² is required.
Existing Concrete Floors: Remove all dirt, oil, grease, old paint or any other surface contaminants by vacuum enclosed shot blasting, scarifying or mechanical grinding. Fats, oils or greases must be removed by mechanical means and detergent washing and making sure all residue of detergent is washed and removed by rinsing with clean water. Local repairs should be carried out using FasTop BU.
Existing Floors (previously coated): All previous coatings and loose floor paints must be removed by mechanical preparation as described in the above section and primed as specified. If the old resin flooring cannot be removed then please consult with our technical team for advice on intercoat adhesion and suitability, as it may not be compatible with the existing floor coating.
Primer
Priming is not required but an optional application of FasTop Primer can be used on porous substrates.
For further information please refer to recommended individual product data sheets.
Mixing
Add the FasTop Multi Part A component (base) and then add the contents of the FasTop Multi Part D (color package) in a mixing bucket or directly in a rotary drum mixer, mix thoroughly for a minute then add the FasTop Multi Part B (hardener) component and mix for 1 minute.
Add component FasTop Multi T150 SR aggregate constantly, into the mixing bucket or into the mixer with rotating blades until a homogeneous mixture of the components is obtained.
FasTop Multi T150 SR should be applied immediately after mixing to prepared areas.
Application
FasTop Multi T150 SR may be applied to substrates with a surface temperature in the range of 5-20°C and a relative humidity of 40% - 90% RH, with a minimum air temperature of 8°C and no condensation. Do not pre-warm this product as working times will be substantially reduced if materials are warm.
NB: Cure times are extended at low temperatures.
FasTop T150 SR should be applied at the required rate as soon after mixing as possible. (Delay can result in variation in surface finish, colour and add to application problems).
The FasTop Multi T150 SR should be applied immediately by Trowel and then finished with a roller to create a consistent texture. Floor areas should be cross rolled to ensure even application and to minimise roller marks.
When applied to FasTop screeds and self-levelling systems as a seal coat the FasTop T150 SR should be worked rapidly and evenly over the area with a trowel and immediately back rolled at the coverage rates to create the required textured finish.
See Sherwin-Williams FasTop DP System Guide for recommended floor systems.
