Solvent free two component Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) resin repair mortars with very high compressive strength for use with Acrydur flooring systems. Acrydur RM01 in combination with Acrydur RM02 is used for indoor projects for highly stress resistant repairs at 6 mm thickness. Acrydur RM01 in combination with Acrydur RM03 is used in the same way indoors on slopes, coving thicker than 20mm and outdoors coving. These products can be installed at temperatures from 0℃ to 35℃ and the hardening ranges from around 1 hour at 20℃ to around 2 hours at 0℃.

  • Recommended for use as a high-strength substrate repair for Acrydur flooring systems
  • Rapid cure repairs with very high compressive and tensile strength
  • Excellent bond to substrate with low shrinkage

Surface Preparation

New Concrete Floors: New concrete must be clean, sound, dry, fully cured and surface laitance removed by vacuum enclosed shot blasting or mechanical grinding, a minimum strength of 25N/mm² is required.

Existing Concrete Floors: Remove all dirt, oil, grease, old paint or any other surface contaminants by vacuum enclosed shot blasting, scarifying or mechanical grinding. Fats, oils or greases must be removed by mechanical means and detergent washing and making sure all residue of detergent is washed and removed by rinsing with clean water. Local repairs should be carried out using Acrydur RM.

Existing Floors (previously coated): All previous coatings and loose floor paints must be removed by mechanical preparation as described in the above section and primed as specified. If the old resin flooring cannot be removed then please consult with our technical team for advice on intercoat adhesion and suitability, as it may not be compatible with the existing floor coating.

Where Acrydur TC05 is applied to concrete surfaces, care must be taken to ensure that surface preparation is thorough but does not disfigure the surface.

Priming/Application Conditions

Substrates should be primed with Acrydur PR01 prior to the application of Acrydur RM. The primer application should be lightly scattered with sand (approximately 0.7 – 1.2 mm in size) at an approximate rate of 0.3 kg/m2.

Acrydur RM is supplied in prepacked units. Before mixing ideally precondition the Acrydur RM liquids and the Acrydur powder to a temperature of approximately 15 °C to 20°C.

The application temperature should be 0°C to 35°C throughout the application and the curing period.

Mixing

Acrydur RM02 (liquid) or Acrydur RM03 (Thix liquid) is added to Acrydur RM01 powder immediately before application. The hardening liquid must always be stirred in to create an even homogenous consistency in the corresponding mixture. The stirring time will depend on the type and the condition of the mixing equipment used and on the temperature of the material.

NB: The amount of liquid can be altered depending on the product consistency required for application, ranging from 1.7 – 2.0 kg for RM02 and 1.7 – 2.2 kg for RM03. Reducing the liquid will create a thicker product and adding the maximum amount of liquid will create a lower viscosity product.

Coats larger than 25 mm: Add 8 kg of Quartz 2mm - 8mm to the mix of 15 kg Acrydur RM01 and 1.85 kg Acrydur RM02. Coats larger than 50 mm: Add 3 kg of Quartz 2 mm - 8mm and 8kg of Quartz 8 mm - 16 mm to the mix of 15 kg Acrydur RM01 and 1.85 kg Acrydur RM02.

Application

Acrydur RM should be spread coarsely to the desired thickness using a trowel or rake and then should be compressed and smoothed using a large smoothing trowel so that no pores and trowel marks remain in the floor.

The application of the system requires consistent and even technique to ensure the good compaction of the mix and to avoid pores and air bubbles within the stated tolerance of fillers and resin and depending on the thickness of the application.

Before applying an Acrydur flooring system on the installed Acrydur RM, the area should be primed using Acrydur PR01 or Acrydur PR02.
