Product customisation
Don't forget to save your customization to be able to add to cartResin Technologies Antibacterial Epoxy Floor Paint is an antimicrobial floor paint which offers effective and trusted antibacterial protection ensuring your flooring remains hygienic at all times. With the added anti-slip profile this coating is great for areas such as factories, hospitals, doctors' surgeries and anywhere else that requires protection. Independently tested by Bio-Master - certificate available upon request.
An antibacterial coating specifically prevents the growth of bacteria whilst the antimicrobial coating goes further than this, destroying bacteria as well as a wide range of microbes such as fungi and mould. The coating is also resistant to antibiotic–resistant bacteria such as MRSA.
Resin Technologies Antibacterial Epoxy Floor Paint is supplied in two pack sizes: 2.5kg and 5kg. Each unit is split between PART A and PART B (PART C* - aggregate is an optional component if a Coarse anti-slip profile is chosen from the menu above). Weight measurements are for the whole unit.
*Aggregate is only provided separately for the Coarse Anti-Slip option. For Medium and Fine Anti-Slip aggregate is pre-mixed in the blend already making the product a 2-part system
Please note Gloss levels for this product are dependent on the anti-slip grade selected.

Mixing
- Gently stir PART A for 2 minutes to ensure dispersal of pigment
- Once stirred, pour 100% contents of PART B into the PART A tin and thoroughly mix by mechanical means (a paddle on the end of a drill) for 90 seconds, or until a uniform colour and texture is achieved and the curing agent has fully dispersed
- Please note that after mixing both components, 100% of the material must be used in a single application and cannot be stored for later use as chemical curing will occur
- For PART C instructions (Coarse Anti-Slip), see 'Application'.
Surface Preparation
- Ensure that the concrete is clean and free from dust, laitance, oil etc.
- Defective concrete should be made good using a repair mortar such as Resin Technologies All In One Repair Mortar
- A relevant Primer should be used such as Resin Technologies All Purpose Primer
- Suitable mechanical treatment is the preferred treatment prior to application, such as using a surface grinder, as this ensures a mechanical “key” for the coating
- However, in instances where this is not feasible, acid etching can also be used for this purpose. Please see Resin Technologies Etch & Clean
Please Note: For substrates other than Concrete, such as Steel and other surfaces, please contact our Technical Department on 0113 2455450 (option 2) or send a message to [email protected] to check suitability and surface preparation/application advice.
Application
- The mixed unit must be applied immediately and with a consistent, thorough coating method
- Apply with a suitable roller, whilst a second pair of hands cuts in the edges of the space
- Flat areas should be cross-rolled ensuring an even and smooth finish throughout
- Move down the floor and repeat the process until complete
- If coating a large area, you may require multiple work-persons
- IF USING COARSE ANTI-SLIP paint will be aggregate free. Aggregate must be added manually, typically by scattering by hand it onto a still-wet first coat of Resin Technologies Antibacterial Anti-Slip Floor Paint and then back-rolling the paint
- A typical system would be 1 coat of relevant Primer and 2 coats of Resin Technologies Antibacterial Epoxy Floor Paint
- In this case after the primer has been applied, the first coat of Resin Technologies Antibacterial Epoxy Floor Paint should be applied no longer than 24 hours after the primer has cured or is dry to touch
- Similarly, the 2nd coat of Resin Technologies Antibacterial Epoxy Floor Paint should be applied no longer than 24 hours after the first coat of paint has cured
- Please note the pot life for this product is 20 minutes, the paint will be unworkable due to chemical curing after this time, ensure you remove the paint from the tin during this window
- The paint will be workable on your floor for 40 minutes
- For more information please see the Data Sheets in the 'Data Sheets' tab, or please contact our Technical Department on 0113 2455450 (option 2) or send a message to [email protected]
