Silancolor Primer is a solvent-free silane and siloxane-based primer in water emulsion, it regulates absorption and has breathable properties, suitable for applications in closed or poorly ventilated environments.

Used in both interior and exterior situations to uniform the absorbency of the substrate, making it suitable for the application of Silancolor range finishes. Silancolor Primer uniforms the surfaces without affecting their breathability. Will store for 24 months if stored in a dry place and away from sources of heat, at a temperature between +5°C and +30°C. Protect from frost.

Features & Benefits

• Silancolor Primer, together with paints and coatings from Silancolor range, is part of a finishing cycle for interior and exterior which grants high protection from chemical attack, UV rays and humidity in general, while preserving the breathability of the substrate and making it highly water-repellent
• A silane and siloxane-based primer in water emulsion with high penetration capacity

Preparation of the substrate

New surfaces or repaired areas to be treated must be cured and perfectly clean, sound and dry

Preparation of the product

Silancolor Primer is supplied ready to use. Shake well before application.

Ensure environment is between +5°C and +35°C prior to application of the product.

Application of the product

Accurately stir Silancolor Primer before use and apply it by brush, roller or spray.

Protect the treated surface from rain for at least 12 hours after application.

Wait 12-24 hours, according to temperature and humidity, and in any case until the substrate is completely dry. Then apply the chosen finish from the Silancolor range.

Cleaning

Remove Silancolor Primer from brushes, rollers or spray equipment with water before it dries.

Limitations

• Do not use Silancolor Primer on metal surfaces
• Do not apply Silancolor Primer on damp or not completely cured substrates
• Do not use Silancolor Primer at temperatures lower than +5°C or higher than +35°C (always apply on dry substrate and avoid exposure to direct sunlight during application)
• Do not apply Silancolor Primer if the level of humidity is over 85%
• Do not apply Silancolor Primer if it is about to rain or in windy weather
• In case of surfaces particularly exposed to the degrading action of algae, mould or fungi, choose Silancolor Primer Plus, hygienising siloxane primer
