Cromar AlphaChem 3in1 Wood Preserver is a solvent-based wood preservative for the treatment of exterior timber, containing active ingredients effective against wood-destroying fungi and wood-boring insects.

Features & Benefits


  • Can be used on all outside wood, which is not in direct contact with soil or surface water and not stresssed statically
  • 2-3 coats required
  • Coverage: 160ml/m²
  • Can be overcoated with all normal commercial topcoats
  • Touch-dry in 12 hours at 20°C



Limitations


  • Do not apply in damp conditions or if rain is imminent
  • Low temperatures, increased humidity and ingredients of some wood types may increase drying time
  • Compatibility and adhesion of any topcoats should be tested on a sample first
  • For industrial use, freshly treated timber must be stored after treatment under shelter, or on impervious hard standing to prevent direct losses to soil or water



Preparation


  • Read product data sheet and safety data sheet (see section above)
  • The wood surface must be clean and dry before treatment
  • All existing coatings must be completely removed
  • If nesessary, all grey and deteriorated wood should be sanded down to a clean, sound surface
  • The wood must be frost-free when treated



Application


  • AlphaChem 3 in 1 Wood Preserver is a ready-to-use product and should not be diluted
  • Stir before use
  • The product should be applied evenly in order to get the best result
  • Reseal the container after use
  • Do not allow the product to reach aquatic environments, the ground, or the sewer system
  • Protect environment (eg soil, plants, aquatic environment) from splashes
  • For industrial use, freshly treated timber must be stored after treatment under shelter, or on impervious hard standing to prevent direct losses to soil or water
  • 2-3 coats required

Brush Application:

  • Apply by brush designed for solvent-borne products, spreading out thinly and evenly along the wood grain

Professional/Industrial uses:

  • Dipping in special facilities and equipment
  • Spraying in closed devices

Drying time:

  • Touch dry in 12 hours under normal conditions (20°C / 65% rel humidity)
  • Low temperatures, increased humidity and ingredients of some wood types may increase drying time
  • Allow a minimum of 24 hours drying time under normal conditions before application of a topcoat

Cleaning of tools:

  • Clean tools immediately after use with commercial brush cleaner



Storage


  • Store sealed in the original container, between 0°C and 30°C
  • Ensure product is between 5°C and 30°C before use
