RonaDeck Resin Bonded Scratch Coat is a polyurethane scratch coat for filling defects, unevenness and holes in the matrix of surfaces prior to the application of RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing.

Limitations

• Has excellent adhesion to bituminous, cementitious, timber and metal surfaces
• Can be overlaid within 1—2 hours at 10°C to 20°C
• Surfaces on which RonaDeck Resin Bonded Scratch Coat is applied must be well constructed, structurally stable with good cohesive strength and suitable to receive a bonded high strength surfacing
• Weakness in or on the surface is likely to result in failure

Instructions for Use

1. Asphalt or asphalt concrete must be applied to a fully compacted type 1 aggregate base. Compaction of asphalt or asphalt concrete should be by minimum 1 tonne roller
2. Asphalt or asphalt concrete must be allowed to cure for 3/4 weeks, or longer in cold weather, to ensure that volatile solvents have evaporated. Trapping of volatile solvents will result in blistering of the surfacing
3. Protect all kerbs, ironwork etc. from spillage/overflow of resin, preferably using duct tape to seal and use duct tape at termination points
4. Mix the two resin components of RonaDeck Resin Bonded Scratch Coat with a 1kW slow speed (drill (≤ 450 RPM), fitted with a suitable spiral paddle attachment MR 3, until the components are blended (typically 2 minutes)for application up to 3mm thickness. Add the aggregate pack for use above 3mm thickness; immediately empty the contents of the mixing vessel onto the deck
5. Apply RonaDeck Resin Bonded Scratch Coat to fill irregularities in substrate and to level dished areas using a steel float. Maximum application temperature is 35°C. Maximum air humidity is 80%
6. Allow the RonaDeck Resin Bonded Scratch Coat to cure, typically 4 hours at 20°C before opening to foot traffic

Note: RonaDeck Resin Bonded Scratch Coat is not suitable as a structural screed or for screeding large areas of floor in a single application. Overcoating

RonaDeck Resin Bonded Scratch Coat can be overcoated with RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing when hard and dry - typically 1 to 2 hours after mixing. If more than 12 hours elapses clean the surface to ensure it is free of loose material and contamination.
