Storage and Handling
Store in warm, dry and clean environment in its current packaging. The Pile Cap Sealer should not be exposed to long periods of ultraviolet light and prolonged dry hot weather. In very cold weather, prior to use ensure that the material is stored in warm conditions above 10°C i.e. an on-site drying room. In ideal conditions the Pile Cap Sealer has a 24 month self-life.
Preparation
When applying to concrete, ensure that the surface is free from loose friable material and free from contamination such as dust or sand. Ensure the surface and working areas are not water logged, but a slightly damp surface is ideal. Clean surface by means of jet wash, grit blasting or scabbling.
Installation
Please do not pour the water into the powder. The powder is added into a bucket of water at the ratios stated below.
Visqueen Pile Cap Sealer should be mixed with water at the following ratio by volume:
- 4 parts Visqueen Pile Cap Sealer
- 1 part clean water
Apply Visqueen Pile Cap Sealer to the full area of the pile cap including 100mm vertically. Mechanically mix Visqueen Pile Cap Sealer at an approximate ratio of 4:1 with clean water by volume by adding the powder into the water. Coverage rate is 1.5kg/m².
This can be achieved by applying one coat or two (2 x 0.75 kg/m²). The second coat should be applied whilst the first coat is still green.
Usable Temperature Range
It is recommended that Visqueen Pile Cap Sealer is used above 5°C.
Additional Information
The concrete floor slab must be poured over the exposed Pile Cap Sealer within 5 to 7 days.
