Visqueen CM Anti-Lime Sealer is a white liquid supplied as a 2 litre concentrate which when diluted with maximum 18 litres of clean water provides a ready to use 20 litre solution. The product dries clear.

Leaching of free lime, which then solidifies, causes blockages within the cavity membrane system. This prevents the free movement of water behind the membrane, ultimately stopping the water from reaching a gravity drain or a sump and pump system.

Blockages caused by free lime will increase the regularity of maintenance of a cavity membrane system and its pumps, or in some cases, cause the system to fail.

The sealer is used on concrete substrates including floors, walls, columns and kickers. It's also used on underpinned properties on either side of joints and dry-packed areas after an application of a cement-based tanking product.

Storage and Handling

Visqueen CM Anti-Lime Sealer should be stored upright, undercover and in its original packaging. Store at temperatures between 5ºC and 35ºC.

To avoid the risk of spillage, always store and transport in a secure upright position. The unopened product has a minimum shelf life of 12 months.

Keep the container closed when not in use.

Care should be taken when handling the product in line with current manual handling regulations.

Preparation

Visqueen CM Anti-Lime Sealer is a white liquid supplied as a 2 litre concentrate which when diluted in a clean container or sprayer with maximum 18 litres of clean water, provides a ready to use 20 litre solution. Mix thoroughly before use. NB. Smaller quantities of sealer can be made up using the same ratio i.e. 1 part concentrate to 9 parts clean water.

New concrete must be at least 7 days old before the sealer solution is applied.

If there is any exposed steel present, apply two coats of suitable corrosion inhibitor to the exposed steel by brush.

Remove, by suitable means, all loose material and surface laitance, dust, oil, grease, corrosion and organic growth, preferably by using wet grit, water blasting techniques or equivalent methods.

Ensure there is no water pooling prior to application. The sealer solution can be applied to damp surfaces but not wet surfaces.

Installation

Apply a single coat of the sealer solution (see above dilution ratio) using a brush, roller or coarse sprayer. Ensure a complete and even coverage is achieved.

The substrate should be left for a minimum of 3 hours to allow the sealer solution to absorb. Once the substrate is touch dry it may be walked on or covered.

Usable Temperature Range

It is recommended that Visqueen CM Anti-Lime Sealer should not be applied at temperatures below 5°C.

Additional Information

Do not apply Visqueen CM Anti-Lime Sealer to areas previously treated with curing or sealing agents, unless these coatings have been removed by chemical or mechanical means.
