Rust-Oleum Galvanised Steel Paint is a specialised zinc coating spray that incorporates sparkling aluminium particles, providing an effective solution for repairing and finishing damaged galvanised steel surfaces. This fast-drying product acts as both a zinc-rich primer and topcoat, utilising pure zinc and aluminium pigments to offer robust cathodic protection. As well as this, the paint creates a sparkling aluminium finish, making surfaces such as blasted steel appear galvanised. It is especially suited for small area applications or touch-ups in environments with light industrial exposure, corrosive conditions, and high humidity.
To achieve the best finish and repair outcomes, proper surface preparation is essential. Ensure that surfaces are free from dirt, grease, oil, and loose rust. The product should be applied to clean and dry surfaces, with application conditions including relative humidity below 85% and temperatures above 0°C. Shake the aerosol can vigorously for at least one minute before use, and continue shaking frequently during application. Maintain a consistent back-and-forth spraying motion at a distance of approximately 25 cm from the surface. A full, wet coat is necessary to form a dense, protective film, avoiding dry spray. Post-application, invert the can and press the spray button for 2-3 seconds to clean the valve, ensuring the product remains ready for future use. Always refer to the Safety Data Sheets for detailed safety and handling instructions.
