Rust-Oleum Epoxy Powerfloat Floor Primer - Water Based Adhesive Primer
Rust-Oleum Rapid Curing Adhesion Primer is a highly effective solution designed to provide quick adhesion on dense concrete surfaces. Its water-based, low-odour formulation makes it ideal for various environments, ensuring ease of use and cleanup. The primer is particularly effective on smooth floors, including power-floated concrete, quarry tiles, and ceramic tiles, making it versatile for different applications.
Application and Usage
This primer is suitable for both new and aged power-floated concrete, ensuring robust adhesion even on challenging surfaces with pinholes. The product can be used in combination with almost all Rust-Oleum® epoxy and polyurethane coatings, although a test for suitability is recommended for any other coatings.
Application is straightforward with natural bristle brushes or medium pile rollers. Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants before application. Mixing thoroughly as per instructions is crucial to achieve optimal consistency. It is advisable to avoid applying the primer at temperatures below 10°C or above 30°C to prevent any issues with curing.
Safety and Storage
For safe handling, it is imperative to follow all safety guidelines provided in the safety data sheet. Store the product in a dry, well-ventilated area, protected from direct sunlight, at temperatures between 10° and 25°C. The product has a minimum shelf life of 2 years from the date of production if stored properly.
Proper handling of the primer involves using appropriate personal protective equipment, especially eye and face protection. In case of spills, clean up using warm soapy water before the product cures to avoid any complications.
Limitations and Restrictions
Although the 3366 Rapid Curing Adhesion Primer significantly improves adhesion on difficult surfaces, it is essential to note that it is not intended as a wearing surface. The product should not be used on unsound, friable, or unclean surfaces. For best results, traditional preparation methods such as shot blasting are recommended for heavily trafficked areas or larger surfaces.
