Description

Hanford & Green Acrylic Satin

Satin Acrylic Paint is a versatile, high-performance paint designed for both interior and exterior applications. Its unique formulation offers excellent adhesion, durability, and a smooth, velvety finish. This paint is perfect for high-use areas and places where regular cleaning is essential, such as hospitals, schools, and kitchens.

Microsafe

For environments where hygiene is paramount, consider the Microsafe additive. Reduces MRSA by 99.91%, E. coli by 99.94%, and SARS COV 2 by 68.38% within 24 hours, ensuring a cleaner, safer environment. Ideal for medical facilities, kitchens, and other spaces with stringent hygiene standards.

SplashGard

An additive that can be combined with all Hanford & Green paints to provide a protective barrier against humid areas where condensation is apparent. Moisture resistant and easily cleanable, Splashgard is ideal for bathrooms, kitchens and more.

Usage and Application

Satin Acrylic Paint can be applied to a variety of surfaces, including:

  • Interior gypsum plaster, plasterboard, and timber surfaces.
  • Exterior timber windows and doors.
  • Metal radiators and surfaces with appropriate metal primer.

Before application, ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and mould. Lightly sand the surface to form a key, and spot prime all surface fillers with a suitable primer. No undercoat is required on previously painted surfaces.

Performance and Benefits

  • High scrub resistance (Class 1), making it ideal for areas that require frequent cleaning.
  • Low VOC content (25 g/l), ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting indoor air quality.
  • Fast drying time: touch dry and recoat between 20 minutes and 1 hour.
  • Available in any colour, providing flexibility to meet specific design requirements.
  • Virtually odourless, ensuring minimal disruption during application.

Microsafe

The Microsafe verion of the Satin Acrylic Paint is formulated with an advanced anti-microbial technology, making it ideal for environments where hygiene is crucial. This variant reduces MRSA by 99.53% and E coli by 99.94%, while retaining all the benefits of the standard Satin Acrylic Paint. It is especially suited for use in hospitals, schools, kitchens, and other areas requiring stringent hygiene standards.

Restrictions and Limitations

While Satin Acrylic Paint is highly versatile, it is important to follow these guidelines:

  • Do not apply in temperatures below 5°C or above 30°C.
  • Do not use on surfaces contaminated with heavy grease or mould without proper cleaning.
  • Always avoid over-rolling or brushing over paint that has already begun to dry.
  • Refer to the downloadable data sheet for detailed information on surface preparation and application methods.

Health and Safety

This product contains low levels of hazardous substances. It is classified as non-hazardous under the current regulations. However, it may cause an allergic reaction due to the presence of isothiazolinones. Avoid contact with skin and eyes, and do not inhale spray or mist.
