Vista Rapids Epoxy Resin
Vista Rapids is a versatile, high-viscosity epoxy resin with excellent UV stability, perfect for projects that require durability and clarity. Specifically designed for clear coatings and decorative projects, it features fast-curing properties and remarkable bubble release, making it ideal for creating smooth, glossy finishes on intricate designs and small objects.
Key Applications
Vista Rapids performs exceptionally well for doming, jewellery making, and crafting thin, durable coatings on items like coasters. The resin’s high-viscosity formulation ensures that it holds its shape, making it suitable for projects requiring defined edges and a glass-like appearance. With a mixing ratio of 2:1, this epoxy cures efficiently and can be applied up to a depth of 10mm, with an optimal application range of 0-3mm.
Recommended Usage Instructions
Mix by weight at a 100:50 ratio or by volume at a 100:60 ratio. Mixing thoroughly is essential to achieve uniform curing. Due to its viscosity, it is recommended to transfer the mixture into a second container after an initial mix, ensuring even distribution of components and reducing the risk of unmixed residues.
Heat Resistance and Curing Details
After a complete cure (typically within 14 days), Vista Rapids becomes heat resistant up to 90°C. Its fast-curing formula allows it to reach a touch-dry state within 12-24 hours at 20°C and can be de-moulded in 36-48 hours. For layering or building up depth, allow each layer to gel before applying additional layers, ensuring a chemical bond without visible lines between layers.
Limitations and Compatibility
Vista Rapids is best suited for smaller, shallow projects and is not recommended for applications beyond 10mm depth due to its rapid heat generation, which may result in overheating. Users should avoid using this resin in large quantities in a single pour to prevent bubbling and warping. For projects needing higher transparency or depth, consider testing other Vista resins for suitability.
Customisation Options
Enhance your project with Vista Colour Pigments for a personalised touch. Create custom translucent or opaque shades by adjusting the pigment concentration. Metallic pigments are also available for unique finishes.

Always consult the product’s MSDS for detailed health and safety information. Vista Rapids is classified under UN number 3082 and does not contain Diisocyanates. Ensure adequate ventilation during application, wear protective gloves, and follow disposal instructions for used containers.
