Vista One Epoxy Art Resin

Vista One is a clear, single-pack epoxy resin specifically formulated for use in decorative castings, such as coasters, trays, and small encapsulations. This low-viscosity resin offers a precise 1:1 mix ratio by volume, making it straightforward to measure and mix. Designed with UV stability in mind, it helps prevent yellowing, ensuring a lasting, clear finish ideal for various craft and functional applications.

Applications

This product is versatile across many surfaces, including wood, metal, and stone, and is suitable for thicknesses from 5mm up to 25mm. The resin can be layered to achieve even greater depths if needed, allowing users to customise it for deeper pours and detailed encapsulations. Additionally, the resin is self-levelling, producing smooth, glass-like finishes across different materials.

Performance Features

Vista One provides excellent heat resistance, reaching up to 90°C after a full 14-day cure, making it suitable for applications where moderate heat exposure is expected. It also boasts exceptional bubble release, minimising imperfections in finished items. Users are advised to mix the resin slowly to reduce the introduction of air bubbles and transfer to a second container for additional mixing to avoid uneven curing.

Mixing and Curing

With an easy 1:1 mixing ratio by volume, Vista One simplifies the preparation process. Once mixed, the epoxy undergoes an exothermic reaction, which requires immediate pouring into the mould or onto the surface to prevent overheating in the container. In conditions of 20°C, the product is typically touch-dry within 24 hours and can be de-moulded after 48 hours. Full cure occurs within 4 days, and heat resistance is optimised after a 14-day curing period.

Customisation Options

For personalised, colourful finishes, Vista One is compatible with Vista Colour Pigments, available in both opaque and translucent options. Users can add varying amounts of pigment to achieve the desired colour intensity. The product also supports metallic effects with the addition of Vista Metallic Pigments, creating a customisable appearance suitable for high-quality craft projects.

Restrictions and Limitations

It is essential to avoid using this epoxy resin for projects involving inclusions such as stones, sand, or thick additives, which may interfere with proper curing. Additionally, Vista One should not be applied in excessive thicknesses exceeding the recommended 25mm depth per layer to prevent overheating. Always perform a small-scale trial to assess compatibility with specific substrates.

Vista One is classified as a hazardous material and should be handled with appropriate safety equipment. Part A contains skin irritants and allergens. Part B, classified as an eye and skin irritant, may also cause serious eye damage and allergic reactions. Both parts have aquatic toxicity and should not be released into watercourses.
