Jotun Hardtop Peelable

A single-pack, waterborne coating designed for temporary protection. Its physically drying formulation safeguards surfaces against contaminants, light mechanical wear, and overspray. It provides a reliable matt finish, good welding spatter resistance, and flame spread resistance, making it a versatile solution for industrial and professional applications.

Applications and Compatible Surfaces

This coating is suitable for coated substrates and is specifically formulated to ensure excellent peel-off performance even after prolonged outdoor exposure. It adheres well to surfaces treated with primers such as Jotacote Universal N10 or Penguard Universal, and can be top-coated with compatible finishes like Hardtop AX or Megagloss HG.

Performance and Restrictions

Hardtop Peelable performs optimally within a substrate temperature range of 5°C to 40°C and humidity levels of 10-75%. It is not recommended for direct application on wet or damp surfaces, or when adverse weather conditions are likely. For best results, ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Always conduct a patch test to confirm compatibility with the surface.

Application Guidelines

Apply using air spray or airless spray techniques for best results. When using a brush or roller, Hardtop Peelable TU is recommended for additional control. The recommended dry film thickness ranges from 125 to 250 microns, ensuring optimal peel-off performance and surface protection. The product should not be exposed to water or rain until fully cured, which typically takes 24 hours.

Complementary Products

For enhanced performance, consider pairing this coating with compatible primers and topcoats. Recommended primers include Penguard Universal and Jotamastic 90. For finishing coats, Hardtop AX or Megagloss AC offer additional durability and aesthetic qualities.
