Weber Webercem Spray DS
Webercem Spray DS is a pre-bagged, ready-to-use, polymer-modified cement-based concrete designed for dry-spray application. Engineered for high strength and minimal rebound, this product is ideal for large-scale structural repairs. It features low dust emissions, no siliceous aggregates, and no caustic accelerators, making it safer and more efficient to apply in confined spaces.
Applications
- Bridge columns, abutments, retaining walls, deck soffits, and parapets.
- Marine structures such as quays, jetties, piers, and seawalls.
- Tunnel linings, mineshafts, and rock stabilisation.
- Encasement of steel supports, cooling towers, and chimneys.
- Repairing fire-damaged concrete elements.
Ensure that surfaces are sound, free of grease, dust, or debris, and adequately prepared using grit blasting, water jetting, or needle gunning.
Performance and Benefits
- Compressive strength: ≥ 45 MPa after 28 days.
- Resistant to freeze-thaw cycles and chloride ingress, ensuring long-term durability.
- Adhesion strength: ≥ 2.0 MPa, ensuring reliable bonding to substrates.
- Declared Class A1 for fire resistance according to EN 13501-1.
- Non-flammable and environmentally compliant with low VOC content.
This product is especially suitable for encapsulating steel reinforcements with excellent adhesion and protective properties.
Limitations
- Do not apply when temperatures are below 5°C or above 30°C.
- Ensure no frost is forecast within 24 hours after application.
- Avoid use on surfaces contaminated with grease or oil unless cleaned thoroughly.
- Not suitable for use in layers thinner than 25mm.
Refer to the detailed technical guidelines to avoid cracking or surface crazing when overcoating.
Application Guidelines
Webercem Spray DS is applied using a dry-spray process. The nozzle operator controls the water flow to achieve the correct consistency, avoiding surface glossiness. The material should be sprayed directly from the bag into the hopper without additional mixing.
- Ensure reinforcement mesh is used for layers exceeding 50mm in thickness.
- Follow proper curing procedures with high-efficiency curing membranes to maintain strength.
After spraying, remove any laitance or loose material before applying additional coats.
Health and Safety
Always wear appropriate protective equipment, including gloves and eye protection. Avoid inhalation of dust during application. The product is classified as an irritant (H315, H318, H317, H335). Dispose of unused material according to local regulations.
