Overview

Sika MonoTop-4100 Protect is a high-performance, fibre-reinforced concrete repair mortar designed for structural strengthening, protection, and waterproofing. It provides long-term durability, exceptional adhesion, and resistance to chemical exposure. Formulated for ease of application, it eliminates the need for a bonding primer and is suitable for both hand and wet spray application.

Where It Can Be Used

Engineered for use on reinforced concrete structures, this product is ideal for applications including:

• Bridges and infrastructure repairs.
• Building facades and structural concrete components.
• Marine environments and coastal defences.
• Dams and potable water structures.
• Wastewater treatment plants (excluding areas exposed to biogenic sulphuric acid).

Suitable for both interior and exterior use, it complies with industry regulations and certification for concrete repair and protection.

Application Instructions

Before applying, ensure all surfaces are clean, free from dust, and properly prepared:

• Mechanically remove weak, damaged, or delaminated concrete.
• Ensure reinforcement steel is free from corrosion and contaminants.
• For maximum adhesion, pre-wet the substrate for at least 2 hours before application.

Mix with clean water (4.4–4.5 L per 25 kg bag) and apply using a trowel or wet spray technique. Multiple layers can be built up as needed, allowing time for curing between applications. Protect from direct sun and high winds to prevent premature drying.

Compatibility and Limitations

• Can be used with Sika MonoTop-1010 or SikaTop Armatec 110 EpoCem for reinforcement protection.
• Should not be applied in temperatures below +5°C or above +30°C.
• Do not feather edge or exceed recommended water dosage.
• Not suitable for areas exposed to biogenic sulphuric acid; use Sika MonoTop-4400 MIC in such cases.

Health and Safety

This product contains Portland cement and may cause skin irritation, eye damage, and respiratory irritation. Use appropriate PPE, including gloves and eye protection. Ensure adequate ventilation when handling.
