Questions
Question about the product
Carl on 2023-01-17 07:25:52 | Question:
We have a client who has a vault beneath a pavement and there are a couple of areas where water is dripping through the existing render. Water isn’t pouring in but a regular drip. How long would you expect this product to last once applied to bare brickwork in the problem areas when covered with your sika render? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This product can be used before application of a Sika 1 Waterproofing System, but Sika do not list an expected lifespan. Sika 1 Waterproofing systems can be used for internal waterproofing of below ground structures to meet the requirements of BS8102:2022 Grades 1 - 3.
Victor Wojcik on 2022-09-13 10:04:17 | Question:
Some 20 years ago I built a large cellar/basement with bedrooms above. The building is on a raft foundation with walls sitting on the concrete raft. I thought that I had waterproofed the basement with sufficiently by "wrapping the base with foil" as is normal !? When it rains I am now having water penetration in the cellar from under the brick/block walls and the floor but only in part of the cellar. The floor is tiled and as well as tiled skirting. Can I apply your product internally to the junction between the floor and wall? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This product provide is designed for application to substrates to seal leaks or cope with running water prior to application of a proprietary waterproofing system such as Sika 1 waterproofing system or Sikacem 133 Gunite.
Bill West on 2021-11-14 20:39:44 | Question:
I plan to coat a porous concrete window sill with Water Plug. The sill has been previously painted with masonry paint. Will I need to (somehow) remove the paint or will I be able to apply Water Plug after giving the surface a good wire brushing? I am open to any other suggestion regarding a coating to treat the porous sill. Thanks you. Bill West |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Thank you for the enqiury, we have contacted you directly for more information.
