Question about the product
Ben sylvie on 2021-04-09 23:07:51 | Question:
Can this be used straight on top of latex self levelling compound? I have self levelled my garage floor so no looking at applying paint. Thanks |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Assuming the self levelling compound is over paintable, clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the Technical Data Sheet it should be primed first with Sikafloor 155 WN prior to application.
Matthew Cutts on 2019-08-21 19:49:23 | Question:

Felicity on 2019-07-22 17:39:51 | Question:
We've taken up ancient lino in our kitchen to reveal half good quality floorboards and half concrete. It's fairly level but patchy in places. We'll sand and polyurethane the floorboards and would like to keep the concrete area but finish it in this kind of finish. We see you say it isn't suitable - what products will wee need to level the concrete and get the same type of hard wearing, matt-lustre, coloured effect please? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
To level we would suggest Rust-Oleum Speed Screed and to seal we would recommend Rust-Oleum 4900 Polycoat 2K.
Matthew on 2018-07-11 15:57:40 | Question:
Good afternoon, Can this product be used to paint textured stair nosings made of nickel bronze (metal)? Many thanks, Matthew |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
No, Sikafloor 2540W would not bond to this type of metal.
James on 2018-03-21 08:27:30 | Question:
How can you achieve a matt finish with this product. We do not want a shiny gloss finish. Thanks |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Sikafloor 2540W is only available as a matt finish as standard.
PETER on 2018-01-29 11:31:48 | Question:
You say it is not suitable for domestic use, why is this please |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
We advise that Sikafloor 2540W and other products like it are only suitable for professional use and should only be applied by suitably experienced and trained contractors. Sikafloor 2540W is intended for use in production areas, warehouses, car park decks, garages, etc. and other products/systems would be better suited for use inside domestic dwelling areas such as kitchens, hallways, lounges, etc.
victoria on 2018-01-29 09:36:55 | Question:

Is the product suitable for use in domestic kitchens? and what would you recommend cleaning it with once installed? Thank |
