Application Equipment
Airless Spray
Nozzle Size: 0.33mm (13 thou)
Fan Angle: 65°
Operating Pressure: 210kg/cm² (3000 psi)
The airless spray details given above are intended as a guide only. Details such as fluid hose length and diameter, paint temperature and job shape and size all have an effect on the spray tip and operating pressure chosen. However, the operating pressure should be the lowest possible consistent with satisfactory atomisation. As conditions will vary from job to job, it is the applicators’ responsibility to ensure that the equipment in use has been set up to give the best results. If in doubt Rawlins Paints should be consulted.
Conventional Spray
Nozzle Size: 1.27mm (50 thou)
Atomising Pressure: 3.5kg/cm² (50 psi)
Fluid Pressure: 0.7kg/cm² (10 psi)
The details of atomising pressure, fluid pressure and nozzle size are given as a guide. It may be found that slight variations of pressure will provide optimum atomisation in some circumstances according to the set up in use. Atomising air pressure depends on the air cap in use and the fluid pressure depends on the length of line and direction of feed i.e. horizontal or vertical.
For application by conventional spray thin up to 10% with Cleanser/Thinner No.15. Wet film thickness should be adjusted accordingly.
NB - Thinning will affect VOC compliance.
Brush
The material is suitable for brush application. Application of more than one coat may be necessary to give equivalent dry film thickness to a single spray applied coat.
Roller
The material is suitable for roller application using a short pile roller. Application of more than one coat may be necessary to give equivalent dry film thickness to a single spray applied coat.

Suresh .R on 2020-05-18 07:03:33 | Question:
What is the gloss level of ACROLON C 137V2, I couldn't able to find in your PDS, please let me know how to check it??? Thanks Suresh.R |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

Jo on 2020-03-04 16:26:38 | Question:
I need to stencil a design on exterior walls that are coated with Acrolon. What kind of paint can I use that will stick to that surface? Since it is a glossy surface, if I use Acrolon on Acrolon, will I need to scuff the surface. I f I scuff the surface, could I use basic latex paint? Thanks |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Sherwin-Williams Acrolon C137V2 is indefinitely overcoatable with itself so ensure surfaces to be coated are clean, dry and free from all surface contamination. Lightly abrade to provide an adequate key and then apply more Sherwin-Williams Acrolon C137V2 as required.
lee Byrne on 2019-06-07 21:26:22 | Question:
can this product be used directly over previously painted steel which is sound and in good condition as a 2 coat finish, or would a primer or undercoat be required. Thanks Lee |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
It can providing the existing coatings are two pack products and offer the required corrosion protection. In all instances we would recommend a site trial to confirm compatibility.
Paul Foster on 2018-12-14 16:35:45 | Question:
What is the expected frequency of application of this product. How long would it be before needs recoating |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Expected life depends on the service condition, exposure and colour. Sherwin-Williams Acrolon C137V2 is normally expected to offer a durability of 20 years depending on the system build up. Characteristics such as colour and gloss retention cannot be given a durability. Colours such as grey or black tend to hold better than strong reds, yellows, oranges, etc. Without further information on your requirements, exposure, system build up, etc. the only advise we can offer here is: if it starts to fade, abrade and re-coat.
paul johnston on 2017-08-08 15:29:44 | Question:
Can this product be used to paint a concrete floor? It is inside, and will be subject to people walking on it? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
No, however if traffic is only foot traffic and relatively light, for internal purposes we would recommend Sherwin-Williams Macropoxy M262, this can also be aggregated with a fine sand, like aggregate P515.
