Applications
DIF Liquid Wallpaper Stripper can be used on a variety of wallpaper types, including:
- Traditional Paper Wallpaper: Uncoated and porous, absorbs remover readily.
- Coated Wallpaper: Requires scoring with a tool like the Zinsser Paper Tiger to enhance penetration.
- Painted Wallpaper: Also requires thorough scoring before application.
- Vinyl Wallpaper: May need peeling or scoring before applying the stripper.
- Foil, Mylars, and Textiles: Thoroughly score the surface for optimal results.
- Multiple Layers of Wallpaper: Remove one layer at a time, scoring each layer as needed.
Instructions for Use
- Protect surrounding areas such as carpeting, floors, and furniture before application.
- Use a sprayer or roller to apply a generous amount of DIF Liquid Wallpaper Stripper on the wallpaper surface.
- Allow the stripper to penetrate for 2-10 minutes, depending on the wallpaper type and adhesive used.
- Use a scraper tool to remove loosened wallpaper. Reapply the stripper to stubborn areas if necessary.
- To remove adhesive residue, apply the stripper, let it soak, and then sponge or scrape off.
- Clean tools with warm tap water after use.
Restrictions and Recommendations
DIF Liquid Wallpaper Stripper is for internal use only. Avoid using it on porous adjacent surfaces such as popcorn ceilings. Always follow the recommended application methods to prevent damage to walls and ensure the best results. For removing wallpaper borders installed with strong adhesives, additional soaking and scraping may be required. After wallpaper removal, clean the walls thoroughly to remove any stripper residue before painting or applying new wallpaper. Zinsser also recommends using their Paper Tiger scoring tool for optimal results.
