Application methods
The product can be applied by
- Spray: Use airless spray
- Brush: Recommended for stripe coating and small areas. Care must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness
Product mixing ratio (by volume)
- Jotatemp 1000 Comp A: 110 part(s)

- Jotatemp 1000 Comp C: 2.5 part(s)
Mix component A and component C (zinc powder) thoroughly before adding component B.
Thinner/Cleaning solvent
- Thinner: Jotun Thinner No. 7
To achieve the best spraying properties the product must be thinned 3-5 % by volume before application. Since this is a heavy bodied material it is important that thinning level is kept below 7 % to avoid sagging and settling.
Note: Korean VOC regulation "Korea Clean Air Conservation Act" and its corresponding thinning limit will prevail over recommended thinning volumes.

ben naylor on 2022-01-23 23:09:28 | Question:
Could this be used on a bbq? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
No, this is designed for substrates that are exposed to continuous high temperatures. Alternatively you could consider Rust-Oleum Heat Resistant Paint 750°C, this is available in smaller tin sizes and it suitable for application to bbq's. This can provide protection up to a dry heat of 750°C for applications indoors or in a sheltered outdoor environment.
Maxime Therrien on 2021-06-11 14:45:24 | Question:
Greetings to you. I am an intern at the Centre de Métallurgie du Québec (CMQ) and our team is currently working on improving corrosion resistance of certain equipments for one of our clients. Specifically, we are looking into high temperature coatings as a mean to protect large metallic vessels made of low alloy steel for use in a furnace and we have found interest in your selection of products as a possible fireside corrosion retardant/protection. We seek to eventually protect 4 vessels of approximately 50 m² (530 ft²) in area from temperatures as high as 750*C (1400*F), but would like to initially run tests on small metallic samples in order to assess the viability of the options offered to us. With this in mind, we would first like to know whether you offer samples/small quantities of your products (specifically, the Jotatemp - 1000) for initial field testing. We would secondly like to request your advice on the applicability of your paint in environments potentially containing high temperature steam, gaseous carboxylic acids and phenol groups or sulfur oxides. If any of these chemical species have the potential to interfere with your product, we would gladly appreciate to know before making any long-term purchases. We hope to hear from you soon. Best regards, Maxime T. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Thank you for the enquiry, Jotatemp 1000 is available in 4.54ltr kits, the manufacturer does not produce samples.
