Description
High-Performance Epoxy Primer for Damp Substrates
Epoxy MT 100 is a specialist two-component epoxy primer designed for slightly damp mineral substrates. Its advanced formulation ensures excellent adhesion, even on weakly absorbent surfaces, making it ideal for use on concrete and cement screeds. The primer is highly effective as a bonding layer, levelling layer, or base for blinded covers, providing a stable foundation for coatings.
Ideal for Concrete and Cement Screeds
Specifically developed to bond with mineral-based surfaces, Epoxy MT 100 works on concrete and cement screeds with residual moisture up to 6% (CM method). It can be used as a primer before applying Remmers PU and EU coatings without the need for broadcasting. For green concrete (water-cement ratio < 0.45), the substrate should be prepared using blasting or grinding techniques.
Rapid Curing for Fast Project Completion
With a fast-drying formula, Epoxy MT 100 allows foot traffic after 8 hours, mechanical loading after 2 days, and full curing within 5 days at 20°C. Waiting times between coats range from 6 to 24 hours, depending on site conditions. The primer should be applied in well-ventilated conditions, with humidity not exceeding 80%.
Application and Mixing Instructions
- Surface Preparation: Ensure the substrate is firm, load-bearing, and free of contaminants like dust, oil, or grease. It must not have a liquid film on the surface.
- Mixing: Combine Component A and Component B in a 71:29 weight ratio. Mix thoroughly with a slow-speed electric mixer (300-400 rpm) for at least 3 minutes.
- Application: Apply generously using a rubber blade or epoxy roller to ensure full pore filling. A second coat may be required on highly absorbent surfaces.
- Optional Impregnation: For strengthening, dilute with Remmers V 101 Thinner and apply multiple layers if necessary.

Epoxy MT 100 is classified as hazardous. It causes skin irritation and serious eye irritation and may cause allergic skin reactions. It is toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. Contains epoxy constituents – may trigger an allergic reaction. Protective gloves, eye protection, and adequate ventilation are required during application.
