Application Guidance

To achieve optimal performance, surface preparation is essential. The substrate must be firm, clean, and free of cracks, dust, oil, and loose coatings. Suitable mechanical preparation methods include steel shot blasting, diamond grinding, and scabbling.

Before application, prime the surface with an appropriate epoxy primer from the Remmers range. While the primer is still wet, fully blind with coarse aggregate to ensure proper adhesion. Optiplan Base should be mixed using clean water (4.25L per 25kg) and applied continuously to avoid seams. A spiked roller must be used to enhance the surface finish.

Limitations and Precautions

• Not suitable for use as a wearing screed—must be covered with an appropriate floor finish.
• Application temperature must be between +5°C and +25°C.
• Do not mix hardened or set material with fresh screed.
• Protect freshly applied screed from frost and excessive drying.

Health and Safety

This product contains calcium sulfoaluminate and is classified as Eye Dam. 1 (H318) – causes serious eye damage. Personal protective equipment, including gloves and eye protection, must be worn. Do not allow the product to enter water systems or drains. Not classified as a hazardous material for transport (UN number not applicable).
