Preparation & Application
Substrate Preparation and Application
KEIM Blockweiss is applied to interior surfaces with problematic stains and bleedings. Application is ideally done on visually connected areas in order to achieve homogeneous results.
A one-coat primer coat application may be sufficient. In case of intensive stains two up to three applications are recommended. A drying time of at least 12 hours between the coats is required.
A drying time of 24 hours is necessary prior to subsequent coating with KEIM interior paints. The application is to be done in sections. Stir material well before application. Do not apply on distemper paints. Do not mix with other paints or tinting pastes. Dilution with water will impair the isolating properties.
Application Conditions
Ambient and substrate temperature above 5°C and below 30°C. Do not apply in direct sunlight or onto sun-heated surfaces.
Consumption
Approx. 15 lt/m² for one coat. The stated consumption values are for a smooth surface and given for guidance and depend on the nature of the substrate and the application method. Exact consumption values can only be determined by trials on the substrate.

Questions
Question about the product
Dr Raja Bandak on 2023-11-01 22:00:00 | Question:
Can the stain blocking paint be used on a painted plaster wall? We have a chimney breast and I think that the tar in it from the past (it is now lined) is now coming through the brickwork. The chimney pots are able to stop rain going down. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Assuming you have prepared the chimney breast in accordance with the technical datasheet, this product will be suitable for this application. It is suitable for painting onto a previously painted surface, as well as for use as a primer for difficult interior substrates with a tendancy to staining/bleeding, isolating watermarks, oil, tar, soot residues and smoke stains, and can also be overcoated if required with Keim Innostar. | |
