Question about the product
Mark on 2018-02-12 10:44:21 | Question:
Can this coating be removed. I have a client that’s had this applied and now asking for it to be removed. Not sure why they need it removing. The customer is always right! Thanks |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Graffiti Magic Clear Anti-Graffiti Coating can be removed by basting i.e. chalk or glass bead. This is the only way to clear ALL Graffiti Magic off a surface if it is on a solid substrate. Using sand or grit is too severe and will possibly damage the substrate under Graffiti Magic. Graffiti Magic can be overcoated by Zinsser B-I-N primer and then decorated over, this will adhere to the surface but will result in reduced overall performance of the system.
Libby Rutherford on 2017-03-14 14:19:52 | Question:
We have an area of newly stained timber cladding in a public area. Is the Graffiti Magic clear coating suitable for this? Would it darken the stain? We'd probably prefer matt, would that be suitable. Thanks. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Graffiti Magic Clear Anti-Graffiti Coating is suitable to be applied over certain wood stains but not varnish. Like most clear coatings Graffiti Magic will darken the appearance of the timber to a degree. We would suggest you carry out a test area prior to full application to ensure compatibility, appearance and performance is acceptable.
Jerome on 2017-03-05 21:42:31 | Question:
Hello, can this be used on interior walls, e.g. school hallways?
Need a matt coating that is exceptionally hardwearing & easy cleanable for interior use. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
No Graffiti Magic Clear Anti-Graffiti Coating is not suitable for interior use, instead for interior projects we recommend Rust-Oleum GraffitiShield Polycoat. It is available in a clear, matt finish, is low odour, solvent free and only requires one coat making it very cost effective and safe to use.

Following an attack of graffiti on lime painted stone wall of the local church, the graffiti has been removed with scrubbing. Can we now paint over the lime paint on the cleaned stone walls with your anti graffiti paint? Churchwarden St Mary's Moulsoe |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
We recommend lime wash surfaces are first primed with a coat of Graffiti Magic Non-Darkening Sealer, before application of Graffiti Magic Clear Anti-Graffiti Coating.

alan on 2016-10-05 17:42:58 | Question:
i have a client who needs a graffiti coating on the walls of decorative posters.
can we apply this coating on posters on plastered wall?
would the chemicals in this be too abrasive for the paper on the walls ? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Providing the wall is sealed behind the posters Graffiti Magic Clear Anti-Graffiti Coating should be OK for this use but we would recommend a test area is carried out prior to full application to check for adhesion, compatibility and appearance.
John Armstrong on 2016-08-30 12:57:10 | Question:
I have large timber gates do they need to be treated before applying the anti graffiti paint. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Graffiti Magic Clear Anti-Graffiti Coating can be applied directly to bare timber but will require multiple coats (usually 3-4) to build up the film build on the surface.
