Surface Preparation
Recommended Substrate Conditions and Temperatures
Substrate conditions
- Suitable high-performance anticorrosive tie coats
- Previous coat must be sound, dry and free from any contamination
Substrate Temperature & Application Conditions
- Substrate temperature during application and curing should be at least 3°C (5°F) above dew point
Application
Instructions for Use
- Stir well before use
- The temperature of the paint should preferably be above 15°C (59°F), otherwise extra thinner may be required to obtain application viscosity
- Adding too much thinner results in reduced sag resistance
Airless Spray
Recommended thinner
Volume of thinner
- 0 - 3%, depending on required thickness and application conditions
Nozzle orifice
- Approx. 0.53 – 0.69 mm (0.021 – 0.027 in)

Notes:
- Maximum overcoating time for SigmaCover 510 with Sigma EcoFleet 530 is 48 hours at 20°C
- The above data is a fair indication for normal application conditions
- Longer drying times may be necessary at higher DFT and under unfavourable atmospheric conditions
Safety Precautions
- For paint and recommended thinners, see information sheets information sheet 1430, information sheet 1431 and the relevant Material Safety Data Sheets in the attachments section above
- This is a solvent-borne paint and care should be taken to avoid inhalation of spray mist or vapor, as well as contact between the wet paint and exposed skin or eyes

Questions
Question about the product
villy Mikkelsen on 2023-11-12 19:51:31 | Question:
my boat is fiberglass. may it be painted here in the autumn and put in the water in the spring. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Assuming the fibreglass is clean, dry, sound, lightly abraded and prepared in accordance with the technical datasheet prior to application, this can be an option. As there is no maximum refloat time for this product, dependent on environmental exposure before submerging back into the water, we'd recommend to low pressure freshwater wash any underwater area's, removing any traces of contamination and to activate the EcoFleet 530 system.
Roger on 2023-10-11 22:35:54 | Question:
Hi Good morning Please can you use this product ecofleet 530 on leisure GRP motor boats or is it just for steel commercial boats? Many thanks Roger |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Assuming the GRP is clean, dry, sound and prepared in accordance with the technical data sheet, we'd recommend priming firstly with one coat of PPG Sigmacover 280 to improve the adhesion, before a finish coat of PPG Sigma EcoFleet 530 in your choice of Black, Blue 7385, Brown, Red Brown and BS16D45.
