Coo-Var WB101 Anti-Graffiti Coating
The water-based, two-pack anti-graffiti coating is a highly effective solution for protecting various surfaces from graffiti and other forms of vandalism. It dries to a hard, clear finish, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use, particularly in public and commercial spaces where maintaining a clean appearance is essential.
Applications
This coating is perfect for use on bridges, walls, subways, public toilets, and stadiums. Its water-based composition makes it especially suitable for environments where solvent-based products may not be ideal. The product can be applied directly over most painted surfaces, but it is recommended to test a small area first to ensure compatibility.
- Not recommended for use below 5°C or in high humidity environments as this may affect the curing process.
- Ensure proper surface preparation by cleaning, degreasing, and sanding to achieve optimal adhesion and finish.
Application Instructions
To achieve the best results, mix the two components thoroughly before application. Use a brush or short pile roller, and apply at least two coats for maximum protection. It is crucial not to exceed the recommended wet film thickness to avoid imperfections in the finished product. Disposable application equipment is recommended to ensure a smooth process.
Safety and Handling
This product is designed for professional use only. Always refer to the safety data sheet (SDS) before handling. Avoid direct skin contact and use protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection. Ensure adequate ventilation during application to prevent inhalation of fumes.
- Do not thin the product.
- Do not apply in enclosed spaces without proper ventilation.
Restrictions and Recommendations
This anti-graffiti coating should not be applied over surfaces that have not been properly prepared, as this could result in poor adhesion and performance. Avoid using it on highly porous or absorbent surfaces without a suitable primer. If in doubt, consult the technical data sheet or contact our technical services for advice. Always refer to the downloadable data sheet for more detailed instructions and safety guidelines.

Question about the product
Gary Trull on 2019-07-29 08:22:56 | Question:
Can Coo-Var WB101 Anti-Graffiti Coating be used on painted garage doors (Metal) |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Yes, before applying existing painted surfaces should be compatible, cleaned, degreased and sanded to ensure an adequate "key" is produced.
Emma Bailey on 2019-06-07 11:08:49 | Question:
Hello Can your product Coo-Var WB101 Anti Graffiti coating be used on top of Acrylic paint on external brick work? Will it yellow with age and how much meter coverage can be got from one tin of 5kg of the product? Many Thanks for your time Emma |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Coo-Var WB101 Anti-Graffiti Coating can be used over water based acrylic paint externally, as it’s clear it won’t yellow but it won't stop the acrylic itself yellowing if this isn't UV stable. Spreading Rate is 5-8 sqm/kg.
Alexandra Ghimisi on 2017-12-11 11:01:08 | Question:
I am a mural painter and need a product to varnish my art work. It is painted indoor with acrylic paint.
I want to try your product-COO-VAR WB101 because of its properties and mainly because is off-gloss.
My questions are:
1. Has it a matt finish?
2. Has it a non-yellow finish in time?
3. Can be applied on top of a gloss varnish already I've applied?
4. For how many years is it guaranteed?
Thank you,
Alexandra G. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
We would advise carrying out a test for compatibility with Rust-Oleum 4900 Polycoat 2K. This is available in a matt finish (Coo-Var WB101 Anti-Graffiti Coating is a glossy finish), Rust-Oleum 4900 Polycoat 2K does not yellow and can be used internally and externally over various pre-painted surfaces.
