Teamac Antifouling A Plus
Teamac Antifouling A Plus is engineered for marine vessels that require robust protection against biofouling. With its advanced formula containing high levels of copper thiocyanate, it offers superior performance for vessels travelling at speeds up to 30 knots. This product is available in White, Black, Blue, and Red, presenting a range of options to suit your vessel.
Applications
This antifouling solution is ideal for use on aluminium, steel, wood, and GRP hulls. Whether for domestic boats or commercial vessels, it ensures comprehensive protection across a variety of substrates. The application process involves applying at least two coats of Metaclor Primer, followed by the antifouling coat, to guarantee optimal adhesion and performance.
- For aluminium surfaces: Surface abrasion is recommended for better adhesion, followed by immediate coating with Metaclor Primer.
- For steel surfaces: Abrasive blasting to Sa2½ is recommended to prepare the surface, ensuring effective primer adhesion.
- For GRP surfaces: Light abrasion and priming with Metaclor Underwater Primer are essential for the best results.
Limitations and Restrictions
Ensure the product is not applied in conditions where the temperature is below the dew point or during high humidity, as these conditions may negatively affect the drying time and performance. Do not use this antifouling solution on surfaces that are not properly prepared as outlined in the application instructions.
Why Choose This Antifouling Solution?
Choosing this antifouling solution ensures your vessel is protected against the harsh marine environment for up to 24 months. Its high copper thiocyanate content makes it one of the most effective solutions for preventing biofouling on various hull types.

Questions
Question about the product
Keith Poskitt on 2021-12-02 14:05:09 | Question:
Which of your antifouling is self eroding? Which antifouling is hard racing? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
All of the Teamac antifouls are ablative or self-eroding. For a hard racing option you consider Teamac High Performance Polyurethane Topcoat, this is hard and very smooth so it is hard for algae and barnacles to attach to the surface, but this is not an antifoul coating.
Nigel Westlake on 2018-11-26 14:25:47 | Question:
How long can the antifoul be applied before going in the water ? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Launch time after painting - minimum 8 hours, maximum 3 months if shrouded from direct sunlight. Minimum 2 coats.
Stephen Westhorpe on 2018-01-26 14:28:51 | Question:
Can i overcoat Teamac D Plus with a Copper based Antifouling such as Flag Performance Extra . |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Yes, it should not be a problem to overcoat with Flag Performance Extra.
