Coo-Var Tennis Court & Drive Paint
This Tennis Court and Drive Paint is a top-quality, water-based coating designed specifically to enhance and protect asphalt and tar-based surfaces. Its high-performance formula provides a durable, matt finish that not only beautifies but also extends the lifespan of your outdoor surfaces. Available in Red, Green, and Black, this paint is the ideal solution for tennis courts, driveways, and paths, delivering a professional look and feel with every application.
Application and Surface Preparation
For the best results, ensure that all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants before application. Existing painted surfaces should be cleaned, degreased, and lightly sanded to create a suitable key for the new coating. On porous surfaces, apply a coat of the paint thinned with 10% clean water; otherwise, apply directly. Always avoid application when the temperature is below 7°C as this can affect the drying process.
- Apply using a brush or roller.
- Recoat after a minimum of 6 hours if needed.
- Do not apply in damp or wet conditions.
Performance and Durability
This paint offers excellent slip resistance, meeting the PTV standards with a rating of 68 when dry and 58 when wet, making it a low-risk option for pedestrian areas. The product is non-flammable, ensuring safety during and after application. It is also designed to withstand the elements, providing long-lasting protection against wear and tear. The matt finish reduces glare, making it perfect for high-visibility areas such as sports courts.
Restrictions and Limitations
Please note that this product should not be applied below 7°C, as lower temperatures can adversely affect the drying and curing process. It is also important to avoid application in high humidity conditions. This product is not suitable for surfaces that are continuously submerged in water or for use on surfaces other than those specified. Always ensure proper ventilation during application and drying.
Health and Safety
Contains substances that may cause an allergic reaction. Always wear protective clothing, gloves, and eye protection during application. Refer to the downloadable safety data sheet for comprehensive health and safety information.

Sven Hage on 2023-02-16 16:05:55 | Question:

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
The coverage rate for this product is 5 to 9m² per litre per coat.
Caroline on 2022-06-07 14:44:52 | Question:
Does any of your paint for tarmac allow water to continue to pass through it and drain away and to allow it to evaporate to dry out? Thanks |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Tarmac is naturally porous, the application of this paint will still allow moisture to pass through the tarmac.
Jenni on 2021-04-26 08:46:16 | Question:
Happy Monday morning! I want to paint my dear Mum's concrete dive... it has been a grey colour. I can see you advertise special colours with regard to your tennis court and drive paint... I can see black, green and red.. is this the range? Kind regards Jenni |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Coo-Var Tennis Court & Drive Paint is available in the 3 standard colours only, not Grey unfortunately.
Mike phillips on 2021-03-22 16:28:09 | Question:
Can I paint this product on outdoor concrete paths ? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This paint is for application to asphalt and tarmac. Assuming the concrete paths are clean, dry, sound, subject to only foot traffic and prepared as detailed in the Technical Data Sheet we can recommend Coo-Var Acrylic Floor Paint.
Livvy on 2018-08-16 19:02:15 | Question: Below the paving slabs in my dog run is tarmac. I want to lift the slabs and coat the tarmac so the dogs can still safely use this area even through the hot summers. Is there a product that will let me do this? Many thanks |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: We're not entirely sure what you are alluding to regarding safety but Coo-Var Tennis Court & Drive Paint or Coo-Var Anti-Slip Acrylic Floor Paint are both water based and both suitable for exterior application to tarmac.
Stevie on 2018-08-01 12:31:01 | Question: We have acquired a piece of land next to our house which has an ugly black/grey tarmac footpath which I would like to beautify. Part of it will be used for car off road parking. I would like it to go green which paint should we get? TIA |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Coo-Var Tennis Court & Drive Paint would be ideal for this application. All surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free from contaminants. Apply a coat of Coo-Var Tennis Court and Drive Paint thinned 10% with clean water on porous surfaces otherwise apply direct.
Peter cole on 2018-03-01 00:44:27 | Question: I am looking to paint one of my pub trade gardens which is tarmac Adam with a green non slip hard wearing paint can you recommend a product? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Assuming the area receives only foot traffic and the existing coating is sound and well adhered, after preparation Coo-Var Tennis Court & Drive Paint should be ideally suited.
