Sikafloor 54 Booster is an accelerator to shorten the curing time of Sikafloor®- 150/-151. It enables the fast track of flooring applications for new build, maintenance and refurbishment.

It is easy to add and mix into Sikafloor® epoxy resin.

Product Information

Shelf Life: 24 months from date of production.

Density: 0.98 kg/l.

Application Temperature: See Data Sheet of Sikafloor® epoxy based resin.

Application method: Completely mix Parts A and B of the Sikafloor® resins as described in the individual Product Data Sheets. Gradually add the Sikafloor®-54 Booster to the finished mix of the resins.

Chemical Base: Tertiary amine.

Storage Conditions: The product must be stored properly in original, unopened and undamaged packaging, in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C.

Mixing Ratio:

• Sikafloor®-150 - Add 300 g (2 bottles) for 10 kg of mixed product.
• Sikafloor®-151 - Add 150 g (1 bottle) for 10 kg of mixed product.

Waiting Time / Overcoating:

• When Sikafloor®-54 Booster is added to Sikafloor®-150/-151: Allow 4hrs at 20°C.

Mixing

• Sikafloor®-54 Booster is added to Sikafloor®-150/-151 on site as part of the mixing process.
• Completely mix Parts A and B of the Sikafloor® resins as described in the individual Product Data Sheets.
• Gradually add the Sikafloor®-54 Booster to the finished mix of the resins and mix for an additional 2 minutes until the Sikafloor®-54 Booster is fully mixed into Parts A and B of the resins.

VOC

• According to the EU Directive 2004/42/CE, the maximum allowed content of VOC (product category IIA / j type sb) is 500 g/l (Limits 2010) for the ready to use product.
• The maximum content of Sikafloor®-54 Booster is < 500 g/l VOC for the ready to use product.

Limitations

• Over dosage can affect performance and cause embrittlement.
• The use of Sikafloor®-54 Booster with Sikafloor®-264 N may increase yellowing and loss of gloss under certain application and exposure conditions.
• The temperature of an accelerated epoxy resin can rise to more than +100°C within a very short time (~25 minutes instead of ~50 minutes for a normal epoxy resin at an air temperature of +20°C).
• If the material is kept in containers instead of being spread out onto the substrate, it may start generating smoke due to overheating.
