Description

Tikkurila Temasolid EZ 80 is a two-component glossy polyurea paint, containing anti-corrosive pigments, hardener aliphatic isocyanate.

Due to its high volume of solids, Temasolid EZ 80 has less environmental impact than conventional solvent-borne topcoats.

Temasolid EZ 80 can be applied in thick films, thus enabling a faster painting process.

Temasolid EZ 80 resists mechanical abrasion well. The paint forms a very tough and scratch-resistant surface rapidly after application.

New-generation glossy polyurea paint Temasolid EZ 80 challenges traditional anti-corrosion paints. This product is very easy to apply by spraying. Based on its chemical properties polyurea forms an extremely hard paint film, thereby reducing potential damage during transportation and installation.

Surface Preparation

  • Oil, grease, salts and dirt are removed by appropriate means. (ISO 12944-4).
Steel Surfaces:
  • Blast clean to grade Sa2½. (ISO 8501-1).
  • If blast cleaning is not possible, phosphating is recommended for cold rolled steel to improve adhesion.
  • In order to get the best performance the surface profile should be medium grit. (ISO 8503-2).
Primed Surfaces:
  • Oil, grease, salt and dirt are removed from the surface by appropriate means.
  • Repair any damage to the primer coat.
  • Note the overcoating time of primer. (ISO 12944-4).

Application Conditions

  • All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from contamination.
  • The temperature of the ambient air, surface and paint should not fall below +5ºC during application or drying.
  • The surface temperature of the steel should remain at least 3ºC above the dew point.
  • Good ventilation and sufficient air movement is required in confined areas during application and drying.

Mixing Components

  • First stir base and hardener separately.
  • The correct proportions of base and hardener must be mixed thoroughly before use.
  • Use power mixer for mixing.
  • Insufficient mixing or incorrect mixing ratio will result in uneven drying of the surface and weaken the properties of the coating.
