Lacq Decowax is a wax that can be used to maintain wooden surfaces. It is manufactured using traditional methods based on a 60-year old, proven recipe. The interaction of pure turpentine, all natural beeswax and carnauba wax, create a natural shine, structure and colour perception.

Lacq Decowax provides a protective layer and evens out minor irregularities. This makes it extremely well-suited for treating furniture and floors, or as a protective top layer over chalk paint.

It cleans, protects and preserves wooden surfaces. Treatment with this wax provides a beautiful shine and removes superficial spots and scratches. Decowax can be used to temper bright colours, apply an antique or grey patina or create a whitewash effect. In addition, the wax can be used to give untreated wood a colour or unique effect.

The Decowax metallic colours can be used to add exquisite sparkling effects to a wooden surface.

Substrate Requirements

• Decowax only adheres to porous substrates such as:
  • Untreated wood
  • Porous paint layer e.g. chalk paint
• Before applying Decowax, a smooth layer of lacquer should be removed
• Wood is a natural product, results and colour perception may vary depending on the substrate

Coverage

• Depending on the substrate and the method of application, the coverage is approx 6m² per 370ml can

Application

• Apply Decowax using a brush, sponge or lint-free cloth
• A brush can be handy for carved wood or relief surfaces
• Spread the wax evenly across the surface and after fifteen to thirty minutes wipe off the excess wax with a cloth, so that only a thin, even layer remains, this allows the wax to soak into the substrate
• Allow the remaining wax to soak in and harden overnight and then firmly polish the wax layer
• By polishing it, the wax layer becomes smooth, strong and hard, and acquires a soft shine

Finishing

• A wax layer requires no further finishing
• However, you will need to touch it up from time to time, and you need to continue to maintain it with wax
• The wax layer can easily be touched up, in its entirety or locally
