Bonda G4 Damp Seal is a moisture curing single part polyurethane varnish ideal for sealing damp porous surfaces prior to using release agent. Used as damp-proof floor sealing, pond sealing, sealing concrete prior to GRP sheathing where alkali in concrete can react with resins.

Also an ideal coating for plug surfacing before taking mould as release agents and resins do not attack G4.

Used to improve the bond of GRP to metal. Withstands temperatures up to 200ºC with good chemical resistance.

Question:

Dear Sirs, Can this product be spray applied with an air cylinder compressor to external limestone walls. ? I have spray applied Thompsons waterproofing solution and other similar products and used G4 pond sealers previously Thank you kindly Regards Mark T 07801 236174

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

Assuming the substrate is clean, dry, sound and prepared in accordance with the technical datasheet, this product is suitable.

We'd recommend thinning with Bonda G4 Thinners, this allows spray viscosity, however the degree of thinning depends on the equipment used and the operator.

Due to thinning, it will be necessary to apply additional coats of Bonda G4 Damp Seal.

We'd also recommend suitable respiratory protection such as an air-fed mask and PPE for the applicator.

Question:

Is this product suitable to seal an indoor exposed cob wall that I can then paint with a matt/silk emulsion paint.

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

While this product once fully dried can be sanded, washed down and painted, it has not be tested for this application to cob.

We would recommend to test on a small area for compatibility and adhesion prior to full application.

Question:

Can i use this to seal interior plaster wall before painting with matt emulsion interior paint?

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

Assuming you are wanting to seal an area of existing, aged plaster due to an isolated and rectified damp issue, we would suggest something like Coo-Var Anti-Damp Paint would be more suited to this type of application. However, if you just have new/bare plaster that you do not have any dampe issues with and simply wish to prime/seal before painting or papering then Zinsser Drywall Pro 2 in 1 would be the more suitable option.

questions Ronnie Durkan on 2021-08-30 14:18:35
Question:

Can I plaster onto g4 damp proofing sealant?

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

It is possible to plaster surfaces that have been treated with Bonda G4 Damp Seal.
