Can I use this to paint exterior of a pitza oven / outside oven

Hi, is the product suitable for the interior of a free-standing electric cooker?

This product isn't classed as a food-safe paint, therefore wouldn't recommend to apply on the interior of a cooker. For appliance's we don't have an alternative we can recommend.

Could I use this paint to coat the steel warming rack in the lid of my gas barbecue? i.e. is it safe in contact with food warming on the rack? Thanks in anticipation of your assistance. Ron

Can I cook over this paint? I need to paint the grill of a BBQ.

This wouldn't be suitable, unfortunately we wouldn't have anything we could recommend for direct heat contact.

Can I use this on the outside of a drum barbecue lid?

Assuming the barbecure lid is steel, not exposed to temperatures over 600°C or direct flame contact, it is clean, dry, sound, prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet it can be used.

Would this product be suitable for painting the glazed tiles surrounding my open fireplace? Thanks

Coo-Var Heat Resistant Satin Black Enamel MAY be suitable but it should be noted that it is heat resistant not fire resistant and we also assume it is not an open fire. Finally although it would appear dry, full properties are only obtained when heated above 220°C so some areas may never be fully cured if it the surfaces do not reach this temperature.

I have a dimplex "electric stove" heater i use at work, it has small grill on the front that is black and over time the heat passing thru it has worn the paint away. Would this paint work to cover that affected area? I don't want to start a fire by using incorrect paint to fix it.

Coo-Var Heat Resistant Satin Black can be applied over other enamels as long as they are also heat resistant. Clean and lightly abrade to provide a key before over coating.

Can I apply heat resistant paint directly to my wood burning stove?

Yes on any areas that are not subject to direct flame contact and remain below 600°C.

In general we sort colours for products into 2 main groups - ‘Ready Mixed’ and ‘Tinted’.
Tinted colours will always be more expensive than Ready Mixed colours as they need to be produced at the time of order using a tinting machine dispensing colourant into a base*.
During busy periods, this means that tinted colours could take longer, for example – a ready mixed colour ordered on a 3-5 day delivery might arrive within 3 days, however a tinted colour might take the full 5 days to arrive.

To find Ready Mixed colours, search "ready mixed" or select the Ready Mixed 'colour chart'. To see Tinted colours select a colour chart such as RAL, BS, NCS, etc. or search for a colour/hue to see available or related options.

To ensure fair pricing, we split colours into ‘Price Bands’ to group together similar priced colours. If you wish to search for the cheapest tinted colours, always select Price Band 1.

This heat-resistant black enamel is designed to withstand temperatures up to 600°C, providing a durable and protective coating for surfaces exposed to high heat. This single-pack enamel is ideal for use on fire surrounds, radiators, and hot pipes, making it a versatile choice for both domestic and professional settings.

Application Instructions

Before applying, ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, or any other contaminants. For bare steel, mechanical cleaning or blast cleaning to SA 2½ is recommended. The product should be applied using a brush or roller, and full curing is achieved by gradually heating the coated surface to 220°C for 20-30 minutes. Please note that the coating remains thermoplastic and sensitive to solvents until fully cured.

Usage Restrictions

This product is not suitable for surfaces that will be exposed to direct flame or for use in confined spaces without adequate ventilation. It should not be used on surfaces that have not been properly prepared, as this may result in reduced adhesion or durability. For any surfaces that are exposed to chemicals or extreme conditions, consult the manufacturer for alternative recommendations. Always refer to the downloadable data sheet for more detailed application instructions and recommendations.
