Durable wear, weather and wash resistant fire protection paint for decorative interior and exterior timber - when exposed to fire, Safewood Insulating Basecoat expands to create a barrier, insulating wood from heat and oxygen to prevent fire penetration & flamespread.

Coronaviruses, and Flu viruses can make painted walls and wood contagious for one or more weeks. Bacteria can breed and colonise on painted walls and wood.

• Today both Class 0 and Class B comply for escape routes, but Class 0 is being phased out
• New BS EN also protects from toxic smoke – safe ones are s1 and s2.

• New compliant standards for corridors, stairs, lobbies are BS EN Class B s1 d0 and Class B s2 d0

• **Apply 2nd coat Safewood Anti-Viral Smoke & Flame Retardant for external or damp areas.

Contractor to provide Thermoguard Fire & Microbial Certificate confirming Safewood system applied to surface area in sq m on the named building upon completion.

Thermoguard Safewood Insulating Basecoat expands to create an insulating barrier.

Thermoguard Safewood Anti-Viral Smoke & Flame Retardant Topcoat emits a safe fire-damping vapour to control flamespread and suppress smoke.

Together they upgrade potentially dangerous wood and wood-based boards.

Preparation & Application

• Checked old coatings for good adhesion
• Ensure clean, dry and free of surface contamination
• Remove loose, flaking or suspect paint film
• Abrade existing smooth or hard coatings for key with 120 grit abrasive Treat knots with Coovar shellac-free Prime-all
• Apply by brush, dense short-pile roller or spray. Maintain wet edge during application

Application Conditions

• Min. 5°C
• Max RH 75%
• Surface 3+°C above dew point
• Avoid condensation
• For use on timber with a minimum thickness of 7mm.
