Application Instructions
Before applying MP44 Wall Coating, ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose materials. For new applications, apply directly to a suitably prepared substrate. For refurbishments, remove all loose and flaking materials, make good any cracks, and clean surfaces thoroughly. Use a suitable primer like PP1 Primer to ensure a strong bond. The coating should be applied using heavy-duty spray equipment, ensuring an even application. Avoid applying below damp proof course or within 150mm of ground level. Re-mix the product if it stiffens on standing, but do not add more than 2% diluter.
Limitations and Restrictions
- Avoid application if frost is forecast or in excessively wet conditions.
- Do not apply in relative humidity above 95% or temperatures below -5ºC or above 25ºC.
- Avoid direct sunlight or hot substrates during application.
- Ensure proper protection against heavy rain, direct sun, or wind for 24 hours post-application.
Recommended Products
For the best results, use Wethertex C10 Fungicidal Wash to clean surfaces and PP1 Primer for priming. Consider using Wethertex GRC or X71 Polymer Render for reinforcing and waterproofing repairs before applying the wall coating.

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: The equipment the manufacturer recommends for the application of MP44 is by Hopper gun or by a Graco President 10:1 Heavy Material Spray Unit. The aggregate size for the MP44 products are; Fine, up to 1.2mm For spraying MP44 Medium use a 5mm. tip at 7 bar when using a hopper gun, and a 4mm tip for fine. If you are using a pressure pot, the manufacturer advises you may need to thin the material to a sprayable viscosity with white spirit. The exact tip size and pressure would have to be arrived at through experiment as we have no experience using this method of application. A Graco fast finish pressure boosted hopper gun will also be fine for his application, if you use the Fine you will need the 4mm tip. Could be worth trying a 3mm if you can get hold of one. | |
