Designed to provide a robust and aesthetically pleasing finish for exterior walls. This high-performance coating ensures long-lasting protection against harsh weather conditions, offering both waterproofing and breathability. The advanced Pliolite resin technology incorporated in LD77 guarantees excellent adhesion, making it a reliable choice for various substrates.
Application Instructions
Proper application of Wethertex LD77 is essential to achieve the desired finish and longevity. Follow these detailed steps to ensure optimal results:
1. Preparation
Begin by preparing the substrate. For new base coats, apply directly to a suitably prepared surface. For refurbishment projects:
- Repair cracks and structural defects.
- Remove any loose, flaking, or brittle material.
- If there is evidence of organic growth, use Wethertex C10 Fungicidal Wash to clean the surface as per the instructions.
- Ensure the substrate is primed or base coated with a suitable product for the substrate type.
Apply beads and expansion joints as required by the substrate and British Standards. When needed, use Wethertex GRC Render as a base coat.
2. Mixing
Wethertex LD77 is supplied ready to use, but may need re-mixing using a suitable paddle mixer to regain the correct consistency for application. Ensure the product is thoroughly mixed before use.
3. Application
To avoid dampness and discolouration, do not apply the product below the damp proof course (DPC) or within 150mm of ground level. The application process involves two main steps:
Trowel Application
- Using a steel trowel, apply the coating smoothly and evenly to a thickness of about 1.5 - 2.5mm.
- Ensure even coverage across the surface.
Creating Texture
- Load a lamb’s wool roller generously with the coating.
- Apply with minimal pressure in short, slow strokes, covering small areas at a time.
- Move the roller from top to bottom, left to right, or right to left to create the desired effect.
4. Post-Application Care
After application, protect the coated surface from heavy rain, direct sun, or wind for at least 24 hours to prevent damage. Sheeting the façade or the scaffold is advised to protect against adverse weather conditions. Ensure the substrate temperature remains between -5°C and +25°C, and that relative humidity is below 85% during application and curing.

Restrictions and Limitations
Wethertex LD77 should not be applied below the damp proof course (DPC) or within 150mm of ground level to avoid dampness and discolouration. It is also crucial to avoid application if frost is forecast or if conditions are excessively wet. Ensure the application temperature is between -5°C and 25°C, and that relative humidity is below 85% during the application and curing process. Protect the coated surface from heavy rain, direct sun, or wind for at least 24 hours after application.
