Sikafloor-440 Level Fibre Reinforced is a fibre and polymer reinforced, flexible, high strength cement based levelling compound, designed specifically for use with underfloor heating and for application over wooden floors. Once mixed with water, Sikafloor-440 Level Fibre Reinforced produces a smooth self-levelling compound which dries to a tough flexible finish which may then be overlaid with most common floor coverings or left as a final wearing surface.
- Embedment of underfloor heating
- Suitable for levelling/smoothing uneven floors
- Suitable for covering existing concrete, sand/cement screeds, brick, stone, unglazed ceramic tiles, plastic sheet DPC, epoxy membranes and wooden floors
- Internal and external use
- Conforms to EN13813 CT-F25-F5-AR0.5
- Rapid setting and may be walked on in 3 hours
- Can be overlaid with ceramic tiles after only 4-5 hours at normal temperatures
- Strong enough to accept light vehicular traffic

Can accept floor coverings in approximately 4-5 hours.
These setting times will be significantly extended at lower temperatures over low porosity subfloors. |
Application Instructions
Floors to be treated must be free from grease, dust and loose particles. Substrates must be porous. Always prepare floors by dampening with water then priming with SikaBond PVA+ or SikaBond SBR+ diluted 1 part PVA/SBR to 3 parts water to give a sound, slightly damp surface. Deep depressions and holes should be filled with a suitable repair mortar and allowed to dry.
20 kg of Sikafloor-440 Level Fibre Reinforced will require 4.2-4.4 litres of water. DO NOT USE EXCESS WATER. Always add the powder to water. This should be carried out by stepwise addition whilst stirring until a free flowing creamy compound is produced. Pour the mixture out into the prepared floor and allow it to find its own level. Trowel down lightly to achieve an overall thickness not exceeding 30 mm. Minimum thicknesses for a wooden substrate is 10 mm.
Sand/Cement Render
Allow at least four weeks drying before application. Dampen floors and prime with SikaBond PVA+ di- luted 1:3 with water. Mix with water as detailed above. For surfaces to be subjected to heavy foot traffic, use SikaBond SBR+ diluted 1:1 with water rather than just water when mixing the powder.
Timber Floors
Floors must be securely screwed down at 300 mm centres. Apply SikaBond SBR+ to the floor at a 1:1 dilution and apply to subfloor whilst the bonding coat is still tacky.
Existing Vinyl Tiles
Ensure tiles are clean and sound. Prime with Sika- Bond SBR+ diluted 1:1 with water and apply floor level compound mixed with SikaBond SBR+ diluted 1:1 with water over tiles whilst primer coat is still tacky. Allow 24 hours before applying final covering.
Limitations
- Always mix with clean fresh water and always prime floors as directed.
- Always apply this product whilst primer coat is still damp.
- Never exceed the quantity of water stated. This will dramatically reduce strength and cause cracking.
- Do not mix more compound than can be laid in 20 minutes and never try to reconstitute once the product has set.
- On substrates where underfloor heating is in place, switch off the heating for 24 hours before, and until 24 hours after, application.
- Do not use this product below 4 °C.
- In areas where movement is anticipated, always use SikaBond SBR+ diluted 1:1 with water rather than water. NO OTHER MANUFACTURER'S PRODUCT MAY BE USED.
- To avoid cracking/crazing, existing concrete screeds/asphalt/bitumen/bituminous coatings must be a minimum of 4 weeks old before overlaying with this product.
- As the manufacturer cannot know all the uses their products may be put to, it is the user’s responsibility to determine suitability for use. If in doubt, contact our Technical Department on 0113 2455450 (option 2) or send a message to [email protected].

Robert davies on 2024-08-06 10:58:14 | Question:
Can I polish the surface of Sikkafloor self levelling compund? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
No, this product hasn't been designed to be polished, nor been tested with polishing equipment.
John MacArthur on 2024-07-28 15:50:06 | Question:
Can this product be used on top of external concrete slabs forming a pavement round a house. To level and prevent weed growth from joints in slabs |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Assuming the existing concrete is clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical datasheet, this product can be applied over existing concrete to act as a leveller or final finish. To help prevent weed growth, it is recommended to fill any joints with Sika Fastfix All Weather prior to application.
David on 2023-09-28 15:10:12 | Question:
Will this be strong enough for a garage floor to take weight of a car/van? Current floor is concrete. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This product has a compressive strength of 25 N/mm2 and is strong enough to accept light vehicular traffic in application to cement and concrete substrates.
Gav on 2023-04-02 21:45:07 | Question:
Could this product be used on a floor construced of hardcore/mot, DPM then 150mm of insulation, slip layer, then this product to make the final "slab" if you will. Will the hardcore/MOT sub base be enough under the insulation or is a ocncrete slab required? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Unfortunately no, this would not be suitable. Please can you provide more information and if possible pictures of the area to [email protected]
Steve C on 2023-03-27 12:39:10 | Question:
