Question:

Can I put self leveling compound straight ontop of this or do I need to a primer? Thank you

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

Yes, Tremco SX300 High Performance Latex Underlayment and Tremco SX600 High Performance Smoothing Compound can be applied without a primer providing they are applied no later than the following day.

The surface temp does not exceed 18°C and there is no underfloor heating.

If there is underfloor heating priming should always be undertaken, using Tremco CS190 Gritty Primer or Tremco CS100 Epoxy Primer.

If the open time window is missed as per the above then priming should be undertaken.

If you are using any of the following Tremco smoothing compounds Tremco SX302 Moisture Tolerant Latex Underlayment, Tremco SX500 Rapid Drying Smoothing Compound, Tremco SX100 Renovation Screed, Tremco SX220 Fast Setting Self Levelling Compound, Tremco SX250 Moisture Tolerant Smoothing Compound or Tremco SX200 Self Levelling Smoothing Compound priming should be undertaken using Tremco CS190 Gritty Primer.
