Coo-Var High Performance Primer

This high-performance, two-pack water-based epoxy primer is engineered to provide exceptional adhesion on tough surfaces where traditional primers may fail. With its semi-gloss, clear finish when dry, it forms a robust base for subsequent coatings, including Coo-Var Profloor paints. The primer is designed to act as a barrier between old and new coatings, making it perfect for overcoating bitumen or heavily smoke-stained surfaces.

Versatile Application

Suitable for use on a variety of surfaces, including both walls and floors, this product excels in environments where mechanical abrasion is not an option. Its low-odour formulation makes it ideal for areas where organic solvents are not permitted. The primer is particularly effective on tiles and concrete, ensuring the strong adhesion of topcoats.

Application Guidance

• Apply using a brush or roller.
• Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants prior to application.
• Do not apply at temperatures below 10°C.
• Full curing takes 5 to 7 days; do not overcoat sooner than 16 hours after application.
• For new concrete, allow it to cure for at least three months before applying this primer.

Restrictions and Limitations

This product should not be used on surfaces that are exposed to extreme heat or below freezing conditions. It is also important to avoid application in confined spaces without adequate ventilation, as this can affect the drying process. For best results, it should be used in combination with other Coo-Var products, such as Coo-Var Profloor Floor Paint or Coo-Var Profloor Plus. Do not apply over unprepared smooth concrete surfaces; these must be roughened using mechanical or chemical methods beforehand.
