Description

Rust-Oleum Mathys Primer 44 HS - Flexible Adhesion Promoting Primer

Primer 44 HS is a ready-to-use binding Primer based on chlorinated rubber. It is designed to improve the adhesion of coatings on porous mineral surfaces, such as unpainted and weathered roofs, floors, and walls. This Primer provides excellent fixation by stabilising loose particles, ensuring that the substrate does not absorb expensive coatings.

Features

  • Immediate water resistance: Primer 44 HS becomes water-resistant within an hour of application at 20°C, making it ideal for quick projects.
  • Flexible and durable: The Primer can withstand temperature variations, making it suitable for outdoor and indoor applications.
  • Environmental compliance: With a VOC level of 599 g/l, Primer 44HS meets stringent environmental safety standards.
  • Long shelf life: When stored in dry, well-ventilated areas away from direct sunlight, Primer 44HS has a minimum shelf life of 2 years.

Application Instructions

Before application, ensure the substrate is clean and free of grease. If the substrate is coated with acrylic paint, do not use Primer 44HS as the solvents may affect the paint. Instead, use  Mathys Pegafix. Stir the Primer thoroughly before use and apply with a brush, roller, or spray without diluting. For best results, apply in a dry and well-ventilated area with temperatures above 5°C and relative humidity below 80%.

Restrictions

  • Do not use on acrylic paint as the solvents in Primer 44HS can affect the acrylic coating.
  • Avoid application in conditions with high humidity or temperatures below 5°C.
  • Professional and industrial applications only.

Complementary Products

For projects involving acrylic paint, consider using Pegafix as an alternative Primer. Always refer to the downloadable data sheet for detailed product information and application guidelines.

Health and Safety

  • UN Number: 1263

Primer 44HS contains hydrocarbons, aromatic C9, and toluene, which are classified as hazardous.
