- Protective paint, designed to provide anti-corrosive protection for steel surfaces.
- For structural steel, including buildings, bridges, and other metal surfaces.
- Usable as a finishing coat, or overcoatable with a topcoat.
Teamac Micaceous Iron Oxide
This single-component anti-corrosive paint is specifically formulated for the protection of structural steel. Its high-performance formulation ensures that steel surfaces remain protected from rust and corrosion, even in harsh environments.
Applications and Usage
Perfectly suited for use on a variety of structural steel applications, this protective paint can be applied to steel used in buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure. It is versatile enough to be used as either a standalone finish or as a base coat that can be overcoated with other products such as Teamac Marine Gloss or Teamac Metalcote for added protection.
- Apply to clean, dry, and rust-free steel surfaces.
- Ensure that surfaces are free from contaminants like grease and oil before application.
- Best results are achieved when surfaces are blast cleaned to SA 2½; mechanical cleaning is an alternative where blasting is not feasible.
Application Guidelines
For optimal performance, apply the product using a brush or roller. Stir well before use, but do not thin the product. The paint should be applied in conditions where the temperature is above the dew point to prevent contamination during drying.
- Apply at a dry film thickness (DFT) of 20 to 40 microns.
- Recoat intervals range from a minimum of 16 hours to a maximum of 10 days, depending on environmental conditions.
- In confined spaces, ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying.

Always refer to the downloadable data sheet for detailed safety information. This product contains volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and must be handled with care to avoid prolonged exposure. It is classified as a flammable liquid and should be kept away from heat sources and open flames. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with water and seek medical attention if necessary.

Restrictions and Limitations
This product should not be used on surfaces that are wet, contaminated, or exposed to high humidity during the application and drying process. It is not suitable for surfaces other than steel, and it should not be thinned. Always ensure the steel surface is properly prepared before applying the paint. Do not apply in temperatures below 5°C or above 25°C.
